[00:00:00] Foreign hello and welcome to the Second Row Conversations podcast. I'm Latetia, also known as Lady P. And I'm excited that you've decided to join me today. First, let me say Merry Christmas. It is Christmas already, guys. The year has absolutely flown by and I'm excited for it. But I hope you have a very merry Christmas. A hope you're enjoying spending time with your family and your friends. And I also hope you remember the reason of Christmas is that because God sent his son on our behalf. So I hope you are enjoying your Christmas. So Merry Christmas again to you and your family. [00:00:44] So today is a motw. I hadn't done it in a few weeks, so I hope you are ready, have your notebook ready, have your Bible ready so that you can join me on this journey as we talk today regarding the message of the week. Pastor Jeremy spoke on this past Sunday and it was a really, really good message and I hope it blesses you as it blessed me. It is coming. This week's message MOTW is coming from First Kings, the 17th chapter, verses 8 through 14. [00:01:14] When you read it, you see what we're talking about, and it is a very familiar scripture. So I'll just give a very quick recap. It is the story of Elijah, and it is a time of famine in the land. He is trying to get some assistance. I'll say that God has given him instructions and told him where he needed to go. And we're going to talk about a little bit about that. But in this particular scripture, he, God has given him instructions and told him to go and find this lady and he finds this woman. And he asked her to get him something to drink, some water. And then he says, well, I need you to make me a small little cake, some bread. [00:01:57] And she said, well, I am, I will, but I am just going to make this. I'll have just enough to make for me and my son. We're going to eat it and then we're going to die. Because why? It is a famine in the land, remember? And he said, but make me one first, okay? Make me one first. And she did. She made him one. And the scripture goes on to say that every time she went to her cabinet, every time she went to to make a meal for her and her son, there was always something there for her. I mean, never ran out, okay? It never ran. It never ran out. And so God always provided there was provision in the house for her and her son. And so that's what we are talking about today. [00:02:42] Just some tidbits from the message from Pastor Jeremy, his subject was, God is going to take care of you until the world gets right. So the world gets right again, God is going to take care of us. So again, I talked about there was a famine, there was severe lack of food. They were going through. It was a really tough time for the people. And so there was no rain, which meant there was no harvest. And so it was just really. It was a struggle for them. Everything was drying out because there was no rain. [00:03:14] But God told Elijah, I need you to go to the brook, a specific brook. [00:03:20] And I didn't write down the name of the book, so I'm sorry, I have to get that and I'll share it with you guys. But the. The. Wherever the brook was, it was very hard to get to that area. You had to go through a lot of. Through a lot of thorns and bushes, and it was really tough. So in order to get there, Elijah had to go through some things to get there. And one point that Pastor Jeremy made doing his message is there are times in our life where God will put you in a position that no one else can help you. And it's going to be difficult. Those times are going to be difficult trying to get to that place, but he's going to put you there where no one else can help you, which means you can't depend on anyone else but God. Okay? [00:04:07] To get there, like I said, to get to the brook, he had to go through some thorns and some tough times and had to fight his way through to get to this specific brook. But he was obedient. And that's going to be a common theme in this motw is obedience. But he was obedient, and he got to where God told him to be. When he got there, God made sure that there was a raven. I'm sorry, a raven that was going to provide for him, which is this specific type of bird. [00:04:36] Two things about the ravens. They are an unclean bird. They're unclean, and they are afraid of people. [00:04:46] So God told Elijah, you go there. I'm going to make sure that the raven provides for you twice a day. He's going to bring you food twice a day. [00:04:56] Now, to us, it makes no sense that why would God use an unclean bird and a bird that's afraid of people to provide for you? Well, again, because that way we know that it is God doing it, is not us depending on anyone else. We can't give anyone else credit for providing for us. It is specifically God. And so, again, Elijah is fed Twice a day during this famine, in this secluded area, God made sure that he is provided for. [00:05:32] The raven was going to feed Elijah twice a day, but he had to be by the brook. He needed to be where God told him to be. He had to be obedient and be where God told him to be. If he was in another spot, if he was down the road, at somewhere else, at someone's house or. So that's not what God told him to be. And he would not have been provided for doing this famine, but God told him to be at the specific rook. And so that's how, how we have to be in our lives when God tells us, I need you to be at this place, or I need you to be doing this specific job, or I need you to talk to this specific person, or I need you to be at this specific time. I need you to wake up at 5am so that we can have conversations, so that we can commune together. Then we have to be where God tells us to be, because if not, we won't get what God has for us. So it's important that we are where God tells us to be. [00:06:26] Okay? [00:06:30] Elijah is fed twice a day because he was obedient. The raven took care of him on a schedule in the morning and in the evening. And when pastor said this statement, I just, yeah, I. It was a whole lot. I just couldn't believe it and it just stuck with me. And, yeah, I said, I gotta share this with people. He said, I need the supernatural on a schedule. The supernatural on a schedule. What God did was the supernatural and he did it on a schedule, morning and evening. And I don't know about you, but I need God to do some things in my life and if he tells me to be at a specific place or at a specific, at a specific time, and the supernatural is going to happen, I need to make sure that I'm there and this on a schedule. So I need the supernatural on a schedule. [00:07:20] He commanded the raven, he commanded the widow woman. Can he give you instructions? [00:07:27] God commanded the raven tell. Told the raven where you needed to go, where he needed to be. He commanded the widow woman and told her what he needed him to do, what he needed her to do. And she didn't even understand that it was God's instructions. She just knew this man was talking to her and told her what he needed. And she follow through. She did it. Can he give you instructions and would you be obedient? Would you follow through if he gave you specific instructions? If you were that woman and you knew that this was. [00:08:01] This was at the end. This is the end for you and your child or you and your children. And you had nothing left in your home, and you had your last can of beans. And this man comes and says, I need. Okay, I. I hear you, but I need you to make sure I get a plate first. [00:08:17] Would you be obedient and feed him and then say, okay, then me and my son, we'll eat after we feed him. Would you have been obedient? Something to think about. [00:08:27] So there are things that have been commanded for your life. You need to show up. Got to show up. [00:08:35] There are some things that will be easy to do until God tells us to do something hard again. [00:08:44] Listen, I can. I can give you. I can give you instructions. I can tell you where you can go get your own food. I can tell you where you know who may have some beans that you might be able to eat. But what will you do if God tells you no, you need to feed him, or if the man of God tells you no, feed me first. [00:09:02] God says, you need to feed me first. And then take care of you and your children. What would you do? How would you answer? That's something to think about. That would be difficult. I'll be honest. That would be difficult for me. But what would you do? [00:09:16] You can know resources and still not trust God. [00:09:21] You can know where to go, who to talk to, how to network, who has this, and how you can move around and get this done. But do. Are you still trusting God through it all? Are you still trusting God to know that he is able to provide that? Even though I know these resources, even though I know who has this and who can help me put this plan together, and who can help my children get what they need, are you still trusting God through the process? That's what you have to know. [00:09:48] She had given up. She knew that this was a famine. I have nothing else. The world, the earth is drying up, and I have no. Nothing to give to me and my son. So this is the end. Yet she was still obedient when he said. When Elijah told her, no, bake me one first. Bake me a cake first. She didn't question. [00:10:14] She didn't say anything. She just was obedient and said, okay. And God blessed her obedience. Because of her obedience, he took care of her and her son. [00:10:29] If we learn to give him his first, every time we need something, it will always be there. I am a witness. If you learn to give God what's His first, everything you need will be There, whether it's your tithes and offering, whether it's your time sacrificing your, your time sacrificing your gifts, whatever it is that you have, if you give it to him every time you need something, it will be provided. You take care of God's business, He gonna help you take care of yours. [00:11:02] And it's happened over and over and over for not just me, but for people that I know. If you help, if you take care of God's business first, he will make sure he'll take care of you. And you will always be provided for. You will never go without. Even if you feel like I have nothing, it's very limited. God will make sure that you are provided for. Just trust him. [00:11:26] Until the earth is able to produce again, God is going to take care of you. So even in times of struggle, one example pastor said, is even if you know groceries are high and you know you have limited funds, God will work it that when you go to the grocery store, something's on sale, like what you need is on sale, right? God will make it so that it'll be a two for one, buy one, get one, you and you can think back on your life where God provided that even in times where things are hard, gas was, is high. And you know, just things are just really, I'm not gonna say outta control because that's not the right term, but things are just really at a different level right now. And it may seem that, you know, how am I. Everything is going up except my, my, my salary, right? We say that everything is going up, but my salary, my salary stayed the same, but everything else is rising. But God has always provided, he has always provided for us and we just have to trust Him. We can't get to a place where we feel like it's too much. And God can't take care of us. Why can't he? Why can't he take care of us? He wouldn't be God if he didn't, right? So we have to remember that oftentimes we don't know how our seed will come back to us. But if we are obedient, our seed will return to us. So things that you've planted, prayers that you've planted, tears that you've cried, things that you've done for other people, it'll come back to you people, it will return to you. God is just that faithful. God is just that faithful. So we have to remember that in everything that we are facing, everything that we are going through, we have to be obedient if. Even if it doesn't make sense, I am. This podcast is an example of being obedient. Even if it doesn't make sense. [00:13:21] There. There are times where I'm just like, is it really helping? But then I get, you know, a text or I get a message, or someone comes and talks to me and say, hey, I really am enjoying your podcast. It's really helping me. And so we have to remember, even if you don't see the immediate results, right? If you just do what God tells you to do, and he will take care of it, he will take care of you. So God is going to take care of you until the world gets right. Even if it feels like the world is not going to ever get right. One thing about it, God is still going to take care of you. He won't leave you. He won't forsake you. I promise you, he's got your back. Even when it doesn't feel like it, even when it's quiet. [00:14:01] I've heard this statement so many times before that even during a test, you know, you have to be quiet. And so doing your testing season, and it seems like a test. God may seem quiet, but he's working. I promise you, he's working behind the scenes. And when it's all said and done, you want to see just how strategic he is and how he has put it together and how beautiful the end result is. So just remember this next week as you're going through this beautiful Christmas day, as you're approaching a new year, we have to remember that even in times of uncertainty, even in times of it feels like despair, even in times where it's just things are just not making sense, we have to continue to trust God, be obedient, and just believe in his word. Stand on his word. Okay, so I thank you for joining me on this motw. I hope it blessed you like it blessed me. Go read First Kings, the 17th chapter. Actually, there's so many more things that God did beyond just this story that shows how God will take care of you. And so just make sure that you are trusting him, standing on his word. Encourage someone else. Encourage. Encourage yourself to keep going and don't give up. I ask that you continue to join me on the second row. We're here just about every Wednesday there.
